The Homemade Aeroplane Flies Again! We’re putting on another Homemade Aeroplane Concert on Saturday 16th February. It may be a bit soon after the last one but it’s the only weekend we’ve got free in February and we probably won’t be able to have one in March because we’ll be touring in the UK.
Last month’s surprise special guest was Brian Dewan, a hard act to follow but we’re confident. We already have a guest lined up – he used to be the lead singer in a band that once made an album entitled Dig, and I produced a record or two for him in the early nineties. He’s flying in from San Francisco (it sounds good but to be honest he was coming this way anyway). Apart from that we’re not telling.
For the in-flight entertainment Amy and I are planning to present The Mod Housewife Meets The Donovan Of Trash – a mash-up of selections from Amy’s first solo album, Diary Of A Mod Housewife and one of my weirdest albums, the lo-fi classic The Donovan Of Trash. They seem to go well together and we’ve been threatening to do this for some time now.
As before tickets are $20 per head and we ask that you bring something to share. You can bring anything – a plate of biscuits, a cherry pie, a crate of beer, a bottle of wine, a box of oranges, a piece of cheese… This isn’t to save us trouble or because we’re cheapskates – it’s to foster a spirit of community and sociability in the departure lounge before take-off and during the mid-flight, between sets refuelling stop. We want you to have a really good time and get to know your fellow travellers.

I’m afraid that for practical reasons (and because so many people say they’ll come to things and then don’t) reserving places can only be done with advance payment through PayPal. If you haven’t got a PayPal account it’s simple to get one. It won’t cost you anything and could quite possibly make your life easier. Go to paypal.com and follow the simple steps. If you can’t do this our concert will probably go over your head so you’d be best not bothering.
If you have genuine difficulties with paypal just get in touch with me and we’ll try and work something out. Also in the event of bad weather or some other unforseen obstacle such as the end of the world preventing you from attending we’ll offer a full refund or your ticket rolled over to our next available flight.
Once you’ve reserved a place (by clicking on the add to cart icon and following the simple steps) you’ll receive an email which will include the address of our house and some sort of instructions on how to get there. You’ll also receive your boarding pass by regular US Mail. Until then all you need to know is that we live in Catskill NY 12414 and you can get there by driving up or down the New York State Thruway (I-87). We’re two hours north of NYC, forty minutes south of Albany, about three hours from Boston and you can work the rest out for yourselves.
Address any questions, enquiries etc to me – firstname.lastname@example.org If you need accommodation we can suggest a few reasonably priced hotels/motels in the area. Or you could try Hotwire.
